Extraction, preparation and processing of collagen for medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic purposes require particularly clean conditions. In the institutes owned cleanroom laboratory raw materials of different animal origin are prepared, especially hides but also tendons and bones. Technologies to process bovine, porcine, equine and marine collagen are established. Depending on the treatment soluble collagen and collagen dispersions can be manufactured.
